What is the GPDR? How do you know if you comply with it?
At the end of 2008, the General Data Protection Rule (GDPR) or General Data Protection Regulation (RGPD) came into force, which repealed the Organic Law on Data Protection (LOPD), in force in Spain since 1999. This law aims to protect personal data and regulates their free movement in the EU. This law is especially relevant for psychologists and all professionals who handle sensitive and personal data about their patients.
The GDPR establishes a series of principles and obligations that psychologists must follow when handling their patients' data. This includes obtaining explicit consent from patients before processing their data, being transparent about how that data will be used, and ensuring that information is stored securely. In addition, the GDPR provides patients with the right to access, modify or delete their data at any time. We talked about how we manage informed consents in another article.

Is it safe to have my data on an online platform?
For this reason, many people wonder if the management software for eHolo psychologists is safe. In this article, we will explore the security measures implemented in eHolo to ensure that data is protected and the confidentiality of all users and their patients is respected.
1. We comply with data protection regulations
eHolo complies with applicable data protection laws and regulations, such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the European Union. These regulations ensure that the personal and clinical information of patients and professionals is protected and treated appropriately.
2. We encrypt data and communications
All data stored and transmitted through eHolo is doubly encrypted, meaning that it is converted into an indecipherable code. This way we protect them from unauthorized access. The platform uses SSL/TLS encryption, which is the industry standard for protecting online communications. This ensures that video calls, messages, documents and clinical records shared on eHolo are protected at all times.
3. We apply authentication and access control
eHolo uses authentication systems to ensure that only authorized users can access the platform and the information stored on it. Mental health professionals must enter their login credentials, such as their email address and password, to access their accounts. In addition, eHolo allows users to set permissions and access levels to control who can securely view, modify or share specific information.
4. We store data securely
Data on eHolo is stored on secure servers located in the European Union, ensuring compliance with applicable European regulations. To do so, these servers have physical and digital security measures, such as surveillance systems, fire protection and data redundancy, to ensure the integrity and availability of information, following the regulations of the GDPR.
5. We apply security monitoring and updates
The eHolo team is continuously working to ensure the security and privacy of the platform, making updates and improvements based on the latest research and trends in information security. In addition, eHolo actively monitors the platform for potential threats or vulnerabilities, allowing for quick and effective actions to protect user data.
6. We build trust
With or without GDPR, the security and privacy of patient and mental health professional information has been one of our obsessions. With all these measures, we want to help psychologists build and maintain trust with their patients.. Confidentiality is a crucial aspect in the therapeutic relationship, and compliance with the privacy regulations established by the GDPR increases patients' confidence that their data is being handled properly and securely.

As you can see, at eHolo we take the security and privacy of your data seriously. We know that confidentiality is an essential part of your work as a psychologist and we are committed to providing you with a safe and reliable environment where you can focus on what matters most: helping your patients.
We spare no effort to ensure that your data and those of your patients are protected and compliant with GDPR regulations. From data encryption and communications to our secure servers and authentication systems, we work every day so that you can use eHolo with complete peace of mind.
We hope this article has provided you with a clear view of how we handle and protect your data at eHolo. If you have any additional questions or concerns, we're always here to help. At eHolo, your security and privacy are our priorities.

I can dedicate it to caring for patients, my family or simply disconnecting, without having the constant “run-run” of “I have to do”, “don't miss it”. Wish I had discovered it sooner!
